FROM THE STUDIO: habbot x victorine

Exciting happenings are afoot in South Melbourne, which is soon to become the home of new women’s shoe retailer, Victorine. Named after Victorine Meurent who was best known as the favourite model of Edouard Manet, but was also an artist in her own right … and a musician … singer …. and teacher!

She was also a fiery red head … and considered a very independent woman of that era. So it’s no surprise that the new store will stock a rather brilliant collection of international and local shoe labels all with a strength of character befitting their namesake.

We are thrilled to be working with the Victorine team in our first habbot collaboration so you’ll find habbot shoes amongst the flat-shoe-only offering! The collaborative process is a new one for me, and I love the attitude to colour that Victorine have brought to the table. We share a love of bold and unexpected colour combinations and if these samples are anything to go by, we’re in for a very exciting ride together.  Watch this space.

In the meantime, I encourage you to add Victorine to your list of wonderful newness to follow! Their blog is a fabulous indication of what’s in store. Visit it today. www.victorine.com.au
